| TIP: To see light colored threads easier when threading a needle, mark the last inch or so with a dark colored marker. Also, cut the threads on an angel. After threading the needle, cut off the marked thread. | |
| TIP: Tips for an elastic casing: 1) To join elastic, add a fabric square to the end of the elastic. 2) Trim the corner at the other end of the elastic at an angle to allow the elastic to go through the casing easier. 3) When elastic is completely through, butt elastic ends together and stitch onto the fabric square. This eliminates the bulk of overlapping elastic. 4) Trim fabric to elastic width. |

| TIP: When lining patch pockets, cut the lining 1/4" - 1/2" narrower, then sew edges together. When the pocket is turned inside out, the lining will pull towards the middle which allows the fabric to curl toward the back. Lining will not show. | |
